Legal employment

Employment at graduation is a key measurement of a Law school’s success. For example, Univ of Virginia takes pride on having placed its alumni into each of the Vault 100 law firms. The various schools publish statistics on their classes and how their graduates end up. Having a national or international reach, the ability to network with various organizations, law firms, courts, etc also make a difference for a schools graduates. What is key, is to ensure you network early on and have an internship each summer of law school. Hopefully the internship will be a paid one and it will lead you to a job at the end of your studies. Having an internship also shows the prospective employer what you are capable of as well as enable you to see what area of the law you would like to pursue.
